1. The Savages - Black Scorpio: The Savages released their second LP, Black Scorpio, on Polydor Records India in 1973 featuring 10 classic tracks. The original copies of this record have become ultra-rare now and change hands at about 400-600 Euros in the collectors' circle! Free School Street Records is proud to reissue this coveted record on limited edition vinyl of 250 copies that will include a 4-page colored insert with liner notes and rare photos. 2. Moheener Ghoraguli - Moheener Ghoraguli: The iconic Bengali band, Moheener Ghoraguli ("Moheen's Horses") was formed in Kolkata in 1975. Their music drew from a wide variety of influences, including Bengali folk, Baul, urban American folk, rock and jazz. The original band released 3 groundbreaking 45 RPM EPs, viz., Shangbigno Pakhikul O Kolkata Bishayak (1977), Ajaana Udonto Bostu Ba Aw-Oo-Baw (1978) and Drishyomaan Moheener Ghoraguli (1979). The original copies of these EPs have become ultra-rare now and change hands at $$$ in collector circles!
Free School Street Records is proud to reissue these 3 sought-after EPs on a single, limited edition 8-song 45 RPM vinyl LP of 250 copies that will include a colored booklet with liner notes, rare photos and replica artwork of the 3 EPs. This release will be a true collector's edition and a tribute to the iconic band which pioneered vernacular language band music in India that became mainstream decades later.
